Optional analytics
I use Google Analytics to see which portfolio pages people visit and which slides and recording links they click. It is off until you choose “Accept analytics”. Rejecting it does not affect access to the site.
If you accept, Google receives information about your browser, device and activity on these pages. Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits. It is not anonymous browsing, and your browser connects to Google's servers.
The site sends page paths without query strings or fragments, and only the origin of an external referring website. Slide and recording events use the talk and conference names, not the destination URL. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled in the site's configuration.
Your choice is saved in this browser for 180 days. Analytics cookies are also set to expire after 180 days. You can change your choice using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any portfolio page. Rejecting after accepting stops further tracking and removes this site's Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already received by Google.
See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites for details about its processing, storage and international transfers.

The web server may record requests, IP addresses and browser information for operation and security. These logs are separate from optional Analytics.
